Please Help Save the Farmers Market
The Farmers Market is at risk of being shut down because of patrons bringing their dogs into the market.
Under California Health and Safety Code 114259.5 , Certified Farmers Markets are considered Permitted Food Facilities and the code stipulates that “customers shall not bring any live animals into any food facility” with the exception of service animals. Emotional support animals, adorable puppies, and well-behaved pets are not service animals under California state law.
The Farmers Market --- not the individuals --- is responsible for paying all fines, and is at risk of being shut down if Brentwood residents and visitors continue to bring their dogs.
Many dog owners are harassing the Farmers Market staff and security who ask them not to bring pets into the market and are walking in anyway despite the very large signs that have been posted.
Please help out the Farmers Market staff by leaving your pets at home when you go over there and asking others to do the same. All of us who love having this weekly market need to protect it so we don’t lose it.
Neighborhood Group Sets up Contract with Elite Security
A group of neighbors asked SBRA to help promote this initiative. SBRA is not a part of the effort. Please contact the group if you want more information.
**Join Our Neighborhood Patrol and Keep South Brentwood Safe!**
Did you know residential burglaries in Brentwood have increased by 45% from last year? In response to this alarming trend, many of your South Brentwood neighbors have collectively hired a 24/7 armed private patrol to protect our community. In only a month, the patrol has already achieved remarkable results. Now is the time to join in and ensure your safety, too.
Examples from the patrol this month:
Responded in under a minute to a trespasser alert in a client's backyard. The trespasser was followed out of the neighborhood and hasn’t returned.
Alerted authorities to a stolen car in our neighborhood and had the vehicle towed away.
Successfully moved several unhoused individuals from clients' properties.
Responded in under a minute to false alarms, providing peace of mind for when there is a true emergency.
Most importantly, there have been **no break-ins** in our neighborhood since we hired the patrol. However, the patrol can only assist those under contract with them due to insurance limitations—so it’s important to join the effort. Each home that joins lowers the monthly cost for everyone.
